Madeleine Russak
Madeleine is a Senior Vice President in the firm's public affairs and strategic communications practices. She possesses over a decade of public affairs, communications, and legislative expertise across a range of issue sets. Most recently, Madeleine was a Senior Vice President at a DC-based public affairs firm, where she led comprehensive integrated communications and public affairs campaigns for companies, causes, and coalitions. Her client work includes Veterans Affairs, Tribal Affairs, healthcare, pharmaceutical, artificial intelligence, and solar energy engagements.
Earlier, she served in senior communications positions within numerous Congressional offices and Committees in both chambers of Congress. On Capitol Hill, Madeleine oversaw communications strategy for dozens of legislative and policy rollouts, including overhauls to federal laws related to surprise billing, child care, paid leave, veterans affairs, and more. She also led communications for the passage of numerous bills and high-profile Senate hearings, including the confirmation votes of Cabinet-level and Supreme Court nominees. Madeleine served as the lead spokesperson for the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee for former Ranking Member and Chair U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was responsible for crafting and communicating Senate Democrats’ messaging on health care, education, and labor policy and advancing legislative priorities critical to the country’s COVID-19 recovery and response efforts.
Madeleine also has extensive political campaign and issue advocacy experience. She led communications for statewide gubernatorial races, competitive Congressional races, and national coalitions and organizations.
Madeleine is a graduate of the University of Southern California, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
